Who We are
The Suzuki Niagara Summer Camp was founded by the teachers at the Suzuki Niagara School of Music. All our teachers are certified in the Suzuki Method, and will be teaching at the camp.
The 2018 Suzuki Niagara Summer Camp will run from Monday July 30th until Friday August 3rd at Bethany Community Church (1388 Third Street Louth, St. Catharines). Each day begins at 9am and ends at 3pm, with two snack breaks and a lunch break. Campers will need to bring their own lunches, but a light snacks will be provided throughout the day.
Each budding musician will be placed in a small group (4 to 6 students) with students at a similar level. These groups will rotate throughout the day, participating in private lessons, small group lessons/chamber groups, large group lessons, masterclasses, various workshops, and enough free time to enjoy the outdoors and bond with their fellow musicians.
1) Half Day - for complete beginners
This option aims to give children a solid and foundational start on either the violin, viola, cello, or piano. Running from 9am until 12pm, students who enroll in this program will get an accurate experience of learning a new instrument using the Suzuki Method of teaching.
2) Full Day - for beginner, intermediate, and advance players
This option is for students already enrolled in lessons (can be private or group). Students will get to:
Play with others of similar age and ability in small groups and chamber ensembles
Develop great technique and violin playing foundations with teachers outside of their regular lessons
Participate in masterclasses with different teachers
Perform polished pieces with an accompanist
3) Half Day - Little Stars for pre-twinklers
Little Stars is Suzuki Niagara's Pre-Twinkle Class for beginners age 3-6. Students will explore the exciting world of music, while complimenting materials learned in Suzuki private lessons. However, students do not need to be enrolled in private lessons to attend.
